Peter is the founder of Global Civil and Mining. He created Global in 2006 by identifying opportunities for road profilers in the mining industry. He began by mining salt and limestone with road profilers before operating Fortescue Metals Group’s first surface mining trials. Subsequently Peter brought the first Wirtgen 2500 into Australia and has since grown the company to a fleet of over 15 machines. Prior to Global, Peter managed a road profiling business for over 10 years before creating his own road profiling business in 2004, now under the ownership of WA Profiling and Stabilising Pty Ltd.
Kane Blackburn has an Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor in Commerce. Kane has been working in the Civil industry since 2007 and started his career with Main Roads WA, working in various regions across Western Australia including the Kimberley, Mid-west, Metro and South-west regions. In 2011 Kane joined the GCM group as General Manager of WA Profiling and WA Stabilising. In 2019 the ownership of these business was transferred to Hiway Group where Kane has continued his career, working across WA as well the Northern Territory.
Mark Shelton joined as CEO of Global in February 2013 and moved to Non-Executive Director in May 2014. With a career spanning almost 25 years, Mark has extensive experience in financial management and company secretarial roles, he is an accomplished leader, with a track record of working with high-growth media and airline companies such as his previous position as the CEO of Skywest. Mark is responsible for driving Global to the next level, building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved by the Global team to date. He brings a great mix of leadership, operational experience, technical breadth, and a passion for customer service.
Damian has over 30 years’ experience in the construction and mining industries and prior to joining Global in December 2010 had responsibility for managing a wide range of large-scale projects for construction and engineering firm Thiess, in both Australia and Asia.
Damian has developed extensive high-level project management skills and has been involved with mining, and civil projects across Australia and Bahrain. His role at Global is to manage all stages of a project from tender to award of contract, through to start up and operations. He has been responsible for managing the key contracts such as operations at Chevron Gorgon, Roy Hill Rail, Yandi and Alba Potline 6 Bahrain.
Chief Financial Officer
Andrew Blackburn joined Global in August 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. Commencing his finance career over 10 years ago and advancing through various business units within Crown Perth, Andrew became Finance Manager looking over 40 different business units. Recognised for his leadership, management and financial contribution, Andrew was acknowledged on a national level. Working at Global with operations, maintenance and corporate services, Andrew is responsible for management of all business and accounting systems to ensure accurate financial management at all levels.
